Catherine Ford is a British actress, born in Bloomsbury. Following the time her father's divorce from the family, she was brought up by her mother, godparents and grandmother. When she was a little girl, she was diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder, and also suffered from anxiety because of the word"association. Ford's passion for acting started in her early years. She joined at the National Youth Theatre. After being admitted into the Sylvia Young Theatre School for brief time but Ford realized this was not the best place for her. Ford later applied for a place in the Central School of Speech and Drama and was admitted on her fourth attempt. Shaun Dingwall would play Pete Tyler, a regular character in Doctor Who. Ford's first appearance on television was the 1991 episode Surgical Spirit. By the when she finished her studies, Ford already went by "Catherine Tate". Tate made appearances on television during the Nineties in shows like The Bill and Men Behaving Badly. Apart from her regular stage work, Tate was a part of in the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2000-2001. Tate's stand-up humor, which she began adding to her show in 1996, quickly gained her admiration.
