Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero (born Patricia Apollonia Kotero) is a famous American actor, singer and model. She was a model for a while before becoming an actress. Her most well-known role was co-starring in Prince's 1984 film Purple Rain and for having been the lead singer of the girl group Apollonia 6. The actress and singer was christened Apollonia by Prince and became one of the many female artists in the '80s who benefited from her relationship with the Purple One. Patricia Kotero, born 1959 in Santa Monica California began her career as a model and actress. The latter part of the 70s was when she appeared on CHiPS. In 1984, she was a part of the main actress in Prince's Purple Rain. (During this time period, she also changed her name.) Then she was replaced by Vanity from the female trio Vanity 6 which starred in the film with Apollonia 6 under their name. The singer made a bigger influence on the charts by being Prince's partner in Take Me with You, a duet from the soundtrack. Kotero ended her relationship with Prince when they had a disagreement during the course of her career. Apollonia 6 broke up following their disagreement. The actress appeared in several tiny films, such as the sequel to Purple Rain Under the Cherry Moon (which she declined), and then landed the part of Falcon Crest on the Night-Time drama Falcon Crest from 1985-1986. Apollonia's debut album came out in 1988. The R&B and dance tracks were not well received by the music buying public. It soon disappeared. In the years that followed her career was a full-time actor, with a few film appearances and small TV shows. Apollonia published a Spanish/English CD entitled Stay with me in 1997. After returning to school, she and received a degree in making films. Then she founded her company and worked in children's TV. Apollonia holds a number of jobs.
